DLA Piper Frankfurt
Real Estate Developer/Lessor
After award-winning designs for the firm’s Munich and Hamburg offices, CSMM created a new office concept for DLA Piper in Frankfurt. The objective was to design an innovative workplace that reflects the forward-looking, professional approach of the international law firm.
Using our systematic needs analysis as a basis, we started the search for the international firm’s ideal rental property. When DLA Piper decided to go for the top seven storeys including the roof terrace of WINX - The Riverside Tower, we also assisted in negotiating the lease agreement with the property developers Art-Invest. Boasting 42,000 square meters of total floor space, this 110-metre high-rise on the banks of the Main River features a striking design and acts as a gateway to Frankfurt’s city centre. The butterfly-shaped towers of this DGNB Platinum certified building are a prominent feature of the surrounding skyline. Because the team from CSMM was involved at such an early stage in the project, they were able to adapt certain structural elements of the building during planning and achieve a very open, agile workplace design tailored to the needs of the staff and optimised for the firm’s workflows. A spiral staircase dominates the two-storey foyer leading from the reception area to the client area and the conference rooms on the upper floors, before tapering off at the top where it opens out onto the roof terrace. In an aim to encourage communication within the firm, each storey has its own communal space. There is also a staff lounge on the 27th floor for larger gatherings and a staircase connecting all seven storeys to encourage chance meetings and face-to-face interaction between employees. With the elegant interiors throughout, the office beautifully accentuates the modern architecture and its generous open spaces. The use of marble, wood and other luxurious materials in the furnishings and fittings gives the office an upscale look and feel.
