CSMM has won the 2026 German Design Award for the revitalisation of Leopoldstrasse 7.
We’re delighted that our project has been honoured with the German Design Award in the category “Excellent Architecture”!
Shaping the future through intelligent transformation
Our award-winning project – the revitalisation of Leopoldstraße 7 in Munich – demonstrates how existing buildings can be successfully reimagined for the future.
Through a comprehensive refurbishment, the outdated structure was transformed into a forward-looking and sustainable piece of architecture.
With structural gutting, an added storey, a new façade, innovative spatial planning and efficient densification, the project delivers tangible added value for its users.
The result: enlarged and restructured office areas, new outdoor terraces on the upper floors, and a high-performance, elegantly redesigned building envelope that meets today’s energy standards.
The building has not only been brought up to date technically and functionally – it now enhances its prominent location on Leopoldstraße and adds new quality to the surrounding urban fabric.
This recognition reinforces our belief in architecture as a process of transformation – driven by courage, creativity, and a clear focus on sustainability and the future.
The award ceremony will take place on 6 February 2026 in Frankfurt am Main.
