Springer Nature. Wirtschaftsinformatik & Management: Why hybrid work requires new impetus.

Ausgabe 1-2/2025

Return to the Office – But How?

We are pleased to announce our recent publication with Springer Verlag on the topic of "Future of Work." While many employees have already returned to the office, the conditions under which we work have fundamentally changed. Flexible, hybrid models have become part of everyday working life – presenting companies with a key challenge: How can offices be designed in a way that employees perceive them as a true added value?

In our article, we argue that it’s not about enforcing presence – but about creating spaces that inspire, connect, and enable productive work. Only when the work environment motivates people can a real sense of identification with the company and team emerge.

At CSMM, we have been exploring this question for many years. Our firm belief: The quality of the physical workplace is a decisive factor in employee engagement, innovation, and corporate culture. Drawing on current research and our practical experience, we have developed five core design principles that define future-proof work environments.

Our contribution offers insights into a new office culture – one that encourages presence rather than demands it.
