As part of the redevelopment of the Briennerstraße complex in Munich – comprising an existing office building for owner occupation and a new building offering residential accommodation and leased office space – we were commissioned to redesign the key shared areas within the new development and to create a new workplace concept for the existing building.
The project consisted of three main components:
- Redesign of the communal areas within the new building, including the ground-floor lobby and the event space with executive meeting rooms on the top floor
- Redesign of the communal areas within the existing building, particularly the reception, lobby and meeting rooms
- Development of a new workplace concept for the existing building, including workshops, a revised spatial layout, and the design of office, meeting and co-working areas
The overarching design concept was FRESH AND MODERN.
Through a consistent design approach, a distinctive identity was created for the House of Football. The visual language draws on the corporate identity of the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) and translates it into a contemporary spatial concept.
At the heart of the design is a clear colour strategy featuring a monochromatic palette, nuanced tonal variations and playful transitions. This approach establishes a strong sense of recognition, dynamism and an emotional connection to the BFV brand.
A particular challenge lay in integrating the design process into a development, planning and implementation programme that was running concurrently.
The result is a cohesive architectural language that unites both the existing and the new-build areas, while strengthening the sense of identity and belonging among employees and visitors of the Bavarian Football Association.
