Office-to-residential conversion: green light for Munich’s Ten Towers
What happens when an early-2000s office complex suddenly becomes part of the solution to an urban housing shortage?
This is precisely what is now taking shape at the Ten Towers at Leuchtenbergring. Yesterday, under the chairmanship of City Planning Councillor Prof. Elisabeth Merk, Munich’s planning committee set the course for converting almost 25,000 m² of office space into residential use. We are very pleased to be part of this development.
For around a year, CSMM has been supporting the conversion as part of a collaborative team alongside the owner, investors and specialist planning lawyers — covering the technical, commercial and planning aspects and drawing on experience from transforming more than 5,000 office units into homes across Germany.
A key factor in enabling the change of use has been the creation of the necessary planning framework. We are particularly pleased that this will also make it possible to deliver rent-controlled housing for students.
